Hello Friends,
For a few months I had a board prepared with a bit of collage and a few layers of encaustic medium. Recently I decided it was time to do something with it. I came across a set of eyes I drew and had tucked into a pocket of an art journal. I don’t even know when I did that, but it was the inspiration I needed to complete my encaustic piece. In my eagerness to get started, I totally forgot to take a before picture. Sorry about that.
I started by soaking my eyes in encaustic medium (that sounds gruesome) and affixing them to the board. Then I did some stenciling with my new R & F oil sticks. Boy, are they ever creamy. I knew I wanted to make a piece that would represent my book, Bee Singer Queen. I had the perfect charm, which I embedded into the wax of her crown. I also added the letters BSQ to the side using metal tips for my wood burning stylus.
But enough talk. Here are the pics.
Thanks for dropping in.
Hugs & smiles,
Teresa
