Hello Friends,
In today's world there is a lot of stress. Masks are mandatory, as is social distancing - no touching, no singing, and not even the warmth of a human smile. It feels like a frightened unfriendly world to me, so I mostly stay at home.
I write, I cook, and I paint. I also watch You Tube videos, including those of a talented artist I recently came across. His name is Peter Dranitsin and I love his techniques. I plan to buy some of his specialty brushes at some point. In the meantime, I made this acrylic painting using my own brushes and trying to mimic some of his techniques.
I've been slowly building up my in-house inventory of mini magnetic paintings. The Confederation Bridge is a big deal on Prince Edward Island and paintings of it are popular. Here is one of the 3"x3" paintings I did of it.
Recently, I posted a painting I did of Makota. He is one of the characters in my in-progress novel, "Son of Abeilhe". Makota has a quirky lopsided grin, which is part of his charm. This week I tweaked the painting a bit to brighten it up and give a bit more dimension to Makota's hair. When he first appears in the story, Makota is about 10-11 years old. I made him slightly older - about 12-13. I'll put the two paintings, so you can see the difference of the revisions I made.

Thanks for dropping in. I hope you are keeping well. What do you do to relieve stress these days, especially if you are virtually house-bound like me.
Hugs & smiles,
Teresa
Here is a video from Peter Dranitsin. His videos are relaxing to watch, even if you don`t paint. Enjoy.

Beautiful work, my friend! I haven't been out of the house since Thanksgiving. I guess it's a good thing I like being home, isn't it? I've actually been watching a bit of youtube lately myself. I find it's good company! :o)
