This morning I posted the first step in a painting I have been working on over the last two months as a surprise birthday present for my MIL. I started by blowing up a photograph and then transferring it to canvas. This is Step 2.
For this step I used only red and blue paint (to make purple), plus varying amounts of water, to come up with essentially a B&W painting. I learned this technique from Susan Christiansen. I started with my darkest shades. Terry and his mom were both wearing black, so I started there.

I did Terry's hair and beard.
Then I gave Terry's mom a brand new hairdo; I even curled it for her.
I will post Step 3 this evening. Thanks for stopping by.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa
