Hello Friends,
A couple of weeks ago I received some artsy goodness in the mail, including a set of Royal oil pastels. I had a play with them, first drawing an apple from my imagination. It would have been better if I'd actually had an apple in front of me or even a picture of one. I was just excited to get started with this new-to-me medium and I only had a few minutes before I had to leave the house for the evening.
When I got home I decided to look up an oil pastel tutorial on YouTube. That's when I drew/painted the 2nd apple. Which one do you like best? My husband likes the first one, but I'm undecided. I like the stem on the first, but the range of strokes and colour in the 2nd one.
Thanks for dropping by.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa

They are both gorgeous, and look good enough to eat. You have drawn them really well.....I want to go eat an apple now! Hugs, Valerie
Stunning, Teresa! I like the contrast between the two apples and if you hadn't explained how/what you did, I would have assumed they were intentionally drawn and colored differently. If forced to choose, I'd have to side with Terry and say I like the softer feel of the first one.
They are both fabulous Teresa. I do like the softness of the first apple.
They are both wonderful and make me want to take a big bite!
Fabulous job and both are as good as each other!
Hi Teresa,
Is this your first attempt drawing with oil pastels? Great job!
I like both apples in a different way. From the first one I like the colour (and as others wrote before me) the softer feel, but it looks more flat in my opinion. The seccond one has more perpective ( or do you say depth?)
Best wishes, Wies
Lovely project! Thank you for joining our "Anything Goes" Challenge at Love to Create this week.
