Hello Friends,
A few weeks ago I came across an intriguing challenge called, "Sunshine on a Cloudy Day". Love that song. The challenge was to find something in your stash with sunshine, clouds or both and then use it on a project. I did the challenge right away, but didn't get around to posting it until now. It was one of the rare times when I have picture-recorded my process so I will share that with you here.
First I found a cloud template in my stash. (Where did that come from?) I traced the clouds onto watercolour paper and also on some scrap paper.
I used low tack tape to adhere the scrap paper clouds over the clouds on my watercolour paper. Then I scribbled with some Gelatos.
I smudged the Gelatos with a baby wipe, decided to add a bit more blue and wiped again.
Next I removed the scrap paper masks and dried my paper.
I chose some pens and doodled on my clouds.
I cut and layered strips of scrap paper onto a 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch piece of cardstock; the same size as my watercolour paper. Then I centered a Spellbinders label die on my patchwork piece, cut it out and used the negative as a frame for my cloudy day scene. I will use the die cut on another project.
I made a card base 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches and punched a scalloped border. I adhered my little framed scene onto the card base, added a sentiment, a few musical notes, a butterfly and inked my scalloped edge. Unfortunately, I didn't get a good picture of the finished card, but you get the idea.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope my little tutorial has inspired you in some way.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa

Oh, Teresa, I love your doodling! Great frame and border. Love how you did all the strips. I'm going to have to borrow that idea for a project I'm doing that won't be seen until January or later. Thanks for the inspiration.
