Hello Friends,
I hope you are doing well and finding time to relax and enjoy this Christmas season. Happy Chanukah to my Jewish friends.
The following is a mixed media canvas I did recently. I made some of these for Christmas presents and now I am completely hooked. I don't know if this one will be for a gift, to keep or to sell.
I am not very good at showing my process. I must try to correct that in the future. However, this first picture is of the canvas when I thought it was finished.
First I collaged various papers and book cuttings onto the canvas. Next I applied paints and scraped through them with a store card to reveal the papers beneath. The flower at the top is actually embedded in the beautiful, handmade paper I collaged on to the background. The fork and knife are from an old book on the Victorian age. I traced around them with a marker to make them stand out.
But.... this just didn't feel finished to me. I pondered on it for a couple of days and today made some additions that I think complete the project. What do you think? Did I improve it or overdo it?
I added little bits of bling here and there, still keeping to the original composition. Now I am thinking about taking off the leaves at the bottom. What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying your Sunday and looking forward to the week ahead.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa

Another little work of art Teresa. I think those little leaves frames the words beautifully, if that is what you refer too.

Beautiful canvas. Thank you for sharing with us at Altered Eclectics Challenge
Teresa, there can never be "too much" when it comes to mixed media. LOL I call it my "everything but the kitchen sink artful expression. Love yours, yes, I can see the tiny details you added to your canvas. They finish it off very well. Thank you for playing in the Path of Positivity challenge this month. Hope to see more of your canvases there!
Teresa this is so inspirational. Its perfect for our FAITH theme this month. Thanks for sharing your talent with us and good luck.

Wonderful collage of colors and emebellishments. Thanks a lot for joining our Challenge last week at Word Art Wednesday. There's still time to enter more projects in this week's Challenge so, I hope you come back and join us again. Want to share God's Word with you found in Psalm 27:14 which says, "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD." A Blessed and Happy New Year to you!
