I am back again with another birthday card. This ALMOST catches me up to the end of March. I still have one very special card to make for my darling son, whose birthday is on the 14th.
I used the sketch at Kathy's Waffle Sketch File, the colour palette (I chose teal, aqua and orange-gold) at Cosmic Strawberry, and the theme of Texture at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge.
It is really hard to get a good photograph lately. My overhead light makes everything look yellow and it was rather overcast most of yesterday during the day. The card base is actually white.
Anyway the book with doves image is by author and illustrator, Elizabeth Dulemba. The sentiment is by Sans Design and the darling love bird image is by Digi Drawn. I coloured the images with Tombow markers.
For the texture theme at Twisted Thursday I embossed almost all of my papers. For the four strips in Kathy's sketch I tore strips of a favourite paper. Do you save tiny scraps of your favourite papers because you can't bear to throw any of it away?
I also sanded my embossed pieces, but only two of the papers showed white through, which is what I was going for. This little daisy stands in for the heart in Kathy's sketch. And it goes nicely with Cosmic Strawberry's inspiration photo don't ya think?
Thanks for stopping in. I'm sorry about everything looking so sickly yellow. One day I will get a photo box, but for now I just don't have the space.
