Hello Friends,
Sometimes I just need a little inspiration and this week's sketch challenge at The Outlawz was just what I needed to pull off this design.
I also got to use some scrap pieces and embellishments from my stash, which is something I love to do. The frame was a negative from a Spellbinders die cut. The little frame around the mirror was from a tiny scrap of vinyl. The 'mantle' was a thin paper scrap. I had the shoe for 2-3 years and the mirror has been in my stash forever. The inside says, "Birthdays always look fabulous on you."
One of the last times I painted I used a piece of water colour paper to sop up the extra on my palette. I embossed a portion of the dried paper with Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder. Then I dry-brushed randomly over the embossed piece with gold mica powder mixed with retarder. I also skimmed my SU green apple ink pad over it, again in a random application. (I actually did the other side a little differently, cut the piece in half and used the other part on a different card.)
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Hugs & smiles,
Teresa

WOW, Teresa, you've been busy! Loving all of your posted cards today, especially the little Mouse. The plaid paper on your "Tree" card is fantastic.
Doesn't it feel great to use up all those things which have been languishing in the stash? It makes me feel so creative and I pat myself on the back for using up things. Unfortunately, I sometimes reward myself with another buying spree. :-D
Love it. Great card. Beautiful papers and design. Thank you for joining us at Not Just cards this week. Judy DT
