Hello Friends,
Taking inspiration from The Outlawz Color Challenge photo this week, I painted this mini water colour of wild roses. My reference photo came from Barbi Holzmann at Paint My Photo.
First I pencil sketched, then outlined with a black ultra fine Sharpie. I rubbed a candle on a few spots before painting, in order to keep the highlights.
Here is my painting, taped to some box board to keep it from curling while wet. I think I will do another rose soon, but not outline it in black. If you are following, you can let me know which one you like best.
When I removed the tape, I had a nice clean border on my mini painting.
It was just the right size for a card, but I tore the edges to make it fit nicely inside a Spellbinders die cut. I took this photo last night so I apologize that the colour is not quite right.
Thanks for stopping by. It is challenging, getting back into painting when I have neglected it for a while. Hopefully by the end of this month I will be feeling more confident.
Hugs & smiles,
Teresa

The torn edges really set off the beautiful flower. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday, on our 191st Challenge. We appreciate you.
Blessings and Hugs, Carole
So striking, Teresa! You've been busy, haven't you? The roses are beautiful but I really love what you did with framing it, using all the negative pieces. I have that die and have never thought of using it that way, but I will now. :-D
Ooooh, very artistic, Teresa! Love the painting and the pretty die-cut frame you made for it! :^)
Hugs, Penny
Gorgeous roses Teresa! Love the coloring and I think those dark lines really add character to the overall picture!
So glad you played along with us this week at Through The Craft Room Door. Looking forward to seeing you again next challenge.
Warm Regards, Cara
