Instructions for sled ornaments

Hi Friends,

I recently posted some sled ornaments I made. A friend asked for instructions so here they are:

Supplies (per sled):
  • 5 pre-colored popsicle sticks
  • Wire cutters
  • Medium grade sand paper
  • Aleen’s Tacky Glue
  • Glue gun (optional but useful)
  • Desired embellishments
  • Small piece of twine
 Instructions:
  • Cut 3 popsicles sticks at the ¾ mark with wire cutters (you can indent first and then snap apart with your fingers)
  • Sand cut ends
  • Line up the longer pieces, side by side and glue 2 of the short pieces across as slats (this is the underside of your sled)
  • Glue 2 whole popsicle sticks on the underside, with one side almost even with the base and the other ends extending beyond it. (These are your sled runners. You can use tacky glue if you hold them in place for a while and wait for them to dry, or you can use the glue gun instead.)
  • Fold small piece of twine in half and glue ends to the center of 3rd small piece of popsicle stick. I used hot glue.
  • Glue small piece with twine to the runners (top side) slightly ahead of the sled base. I used hot glue here too.
  • Hot glue embellishments however you like. I prefer the ones where the front slat (with the twine) is showing, but it is whatever looks good to you.
For some of my sleds I used 4 popsicle sticks for my base. On those, I used 3 small pieces as slats.
