Hello Friends,
I have been fighting a cold, but feeling much better today. Still dealing with blizzard after blizzard here on beautiful Prince Edward Island. But, you know, of all the types of storms there are, snow is probably the least destructive. And it is certainly the prettiest when the winds calm down and all the world is white.
Anyway, on to my project. A couple of weeks ago I painted a hibiscus, following a tutorial at The Frugal Crafter. I didn't do mine exactly like Lindsay's and I got tripped up for a bit.
Here is the beginning, drawn with a permanent black marker pen and a watercoloured background.
I didn't quite get the finishing touches right here. I really to soften my lines in the flower and try to give it a little more dimension. I got a little carried away with the black.

After letting it sit for a few days, I tackled the flower again, using an experimental mixed media approach. I even got out my gold gel pen. I was more satisfied with the final results and decided to make it into a card.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you are having a good day, evening or night, depending on where you live.
Hugs & smiles,
Teresa

Www Teresa the final image really "pops" out. Lovely flower.
It's amazing to watch something go from a line drawing with no depth to the final product, a gorgeous flower with overlapped petals. Marvelous work, Teresa!
Wow, what a beautiful image and card! Love how you show us the progression from start to finish! Really wonderful art, Teresa! :^)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs, Penny
So beautiful and love the water color. Like Penny said it is nice to see how it turns out with each step. I see sparkles and that looks so nice. The gold looks so pretty.
Hugs, Pat/♥
