Hello Friends,
Yesterday I announced that I was beginning a daily painting/art journaling challenge for the month of July. Normally I will only be posting six days a week and I would love for some other brave soul/s to join me in the challenge.
The inspiration for this page came from Journal 52, Week 27: Kindness. I started with some torn paper collage and ink sprays. I used vintage scripture word art by Little Birdie Blessings. I love the way Abby combines scripture with lovely vintage art.
I tore the scripture portion from its image (lady with sheep) and surrounded it with die cut leaves and birds created by my favourite SU punch. I punched the birds from a collage of patterned papers which I embossed. I used some extra 'wings' to crown the scripture.
This is the other vintage art by Little Birdie Blessings, using a portion of the same scripture. I coloured the leaves and flowers with Tombow water-based markers.
And here is the vintage art that originally went with the full version of the scripture. I used the negative die cut of one bird as a frame around the lamb.
In May I taught a mixed media class. Instead of tossing all of the leftover paint, I let it dry on the plastic lid palettes and then peeled it off. I collaged some of the acrylic paint skins onto my background. I also stamped randomly the word KIND and a decorative stamp by Inkadinkado. Two other touches were stenciling with my die cut negative of my leafy branch, and finger smudges of gold metallic paint.
Thanks for dropping by. I have two backgrounds started for future pages, so I will hopefully have something new to show you tomorrow.
Hugs & smiles,
Teresa

Thanks for letting me know Teresa. I love your altered art and the woman with the sheep is one of my favorite graphics. Love the little birdies you used, I have that punch. Nice work. ~ Abby
What a great way to put down your thoughts! Really cool collage!
Wonderful journal page and love the elements you have included!
They are all very pretty. I like yours with the birds and torn out verse the best. I have not done art journaling. I like what you have done. Snoopy of Snoopy's Homemade Fun has been doing this too. I wish more people used faith for their journals. It would encourage them. Edwina Brown
Beautiful work Teresa, love the soft colours, and your inventive use of all those materials, well done. Hugs, Valerie
I've never gotten into art journaling myself but I can appreciate it from others. Loving the birds you made from that punch! How exquisite.
Excellent altered art and journal page! Very creative! Thank you for playing along in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge! Have a blessed day!

Wow! I know that so much work must have gone into these projects! Wonderful mixed media look! They all definitely have a grunge look and are perfect for our challenge!

Great Bible verse for the challenge. I need to art journal everyday. I need to focus more on my prayer journal, and I really need to practice drawing, too.
