Hello Friends,
Yesterday I shared a system I made for helping me to get passed the "What do I do?" stage of creating art. Today I used the system for the very first time and it was terrific. I wasted no time trying to figure out what to do, and just got down to the task straight away.
For my "Tutorial or Media" I drew a folded paper slip that said, "Water colour". If I had chosen a tutorial for a specific type of art, that is what I would have done.
From the "Subject" drawer I pulled out, "Flower". The "Item" I chose was "5x7 painting". My final step was to choose something from my "Art Supplies" list container. I took only one paper slip and it said, "Sprays".
Wanting to get started right away, and having no real flowers at hand, I brought up a tutorial from my favourite You Tube artist, Lindsay Wierich (The Frugal Crafter). She is a great teacher and has tons of water colour tutorials on her channel.
And here is what I made. It is actually a mixed media painting because I used Prisma colour pencils and a white gel pen for definition. (Following Lindsay's example) To complete my day's assignment, I gave the finished piece a spritz of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold.
I think I will make this into a card for my dear cousin in Scotland who recently lost his beloved wife.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have been able to have a creative break at least once this week.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa

Beautiful painting, glad you found a system that works for you. Hugs, Valerie
This is a stunning piece of art, Teresa! I don't have my system set up yet but I have it planned out and know what my categories are going to be. Now it's just a matter of making the actual folded slips of paper. You've been such an inspiration to me on this project. Can't wait. :-D
Congratulations for having a great idea and then following through. Fabulous painting too x
This is beautiful! Such lovely colors--your painting reminds me of my childhood. ((hugs))
