One of my ventures this summer was to run a weekly vacation art journaling class for tourists. The idea is to show people how to incorporate memorabilia that they collect on their trip into an art journal. For this layout, I folded a map into a small triangle and glued it onto my painting to look like the sail of a boat. Unfolded, it reveals the map. My husband thought maybe I should paint the part of the "sail" that is showing, but I like it as is.

I do like the idea of being able to open the map and they would be able to add photographs or ephemera as well.
